The John Miller Program with Susan Maletta, Oct. 10

October 10th is an important day in American history. October 10th is the birthday of Brett Favre (statistically the greatest quarterback of all time), the birthday of David Lee Roth (hottest, most talented teen idol of all time--Fuck Van Hagar!), and of UTMOST significance, the air date of the John Miller Program with Susan Maletta (the best comedy talk radio show of all time)!

Awww yeah that's right. We are back in the saddle, feeling rather spunky, and ready to blab our heads off about everything and anything with more rambunctious comedians.

Zane Lamprey, as seen on The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien, is a comedian, actor, editor, producer, and writer for television and movies. Early in his career, he worked on several projects for Comedy Central, Girls Gone Wild, VH1, and Nickelodeon. He was also a cast member on MTV's Damage Control and host of VH1's reality show Motormouth. Zane is best known for being the globe-trotting “Libation Guru” who travels the world (with a stuffed monkey called Pleepleus) in exploration of local drinking customs as host of Three Sheets.

Three Sheets is a cult television travelogue airing its fourth season weeknights at 10pm ET/PT exclusively on Fine Living Network (FLN), one of five lifestyle cable networks from the makers of HGTV and Food Network. Three Sheets has taken Zane (and Pleepleus) to over 50 countries, where he has visited countless watering holes, consumed exotic drinks, and encountered a colorful cast of characters along the way. His mission is to offer viewers a great window on leisure time libations throughout the world. Three Sheets has a fan following via Twitter and Facebook where thousands of followers show up to “tip a few” with Zane.

Despite holding the title “Alcohol Ambassador to the World,” Zane claims the show is not about getting inebriated but rather an educational journey, saying "I drink to try new things, to learn about drinking cultures…sometimes levels of inebriation are the by-product of my job.” Adding, “I don’t drink as much as people think. It's like I'm sure the math teacher doesn't come home and do math.” He also hosts Have Fork, Will Travel, currently running on Food Network, a show similar to Three Sheets focusing on local food and eating customs.

Mike Siegel is a professional stand-up comedian, host and actor. He can be seen nationally every week hosting TBS network's "TBS Movie EXTRA ", HGTV's "If Walls Could Talk ", and Fine Living networks' " What You Get For the Money" (which also airs on HGTV). He has also hosted the Game Show Network's "GSN Live". But his television appearances hardly stop there. He began his TV career as a VH-1 on-air personality, and followed up as host of the NBC hidden-camera special, "Payback ". Mike has performed stand-up comedy on numerous television shows, including "The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn " (CBS), "Late Friday" (NBC), "Comedy Showcase with Louie Anderson" (NBC), "Stand-up, Stand-up" (Comedy Central), and "Friday Night" (NBC).

Mike has also been a repeat panelist on the hit late-night talk show on E!, "Chelsea Lately". Mike's also been seen on the small screen as an actor. He was a recurring guest star on the CBS drama "JAG" , and had supporting roles in such shows as "24" (FOX), "Prison Break" (FOX), "Less Than Perfect" (ABC), "Eve" (UPN), "Strong Medicine " (Lifetime), "Andy Richter Controls the Universe" (FOX), and " Sabrina" (WB). Mike made his transition to movies with a bang by landing a role in the highly acclaimed Steven Soderbergh drama Traffic , starring Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones. He had a scene-stealing supporting role in the independent feature The Godfather of Green Bay, starring Lauren Holly, and another in Freeloaders, directed by Dan Rosen. Mike also played a lead in Inside Out, a short film directed by L. Zane.

Gail Jones is a recovering Southern Belle from a little bump in the road town called Hartselle, Alabama. In the late 70’s, she started doing lectures on sex education. She was surprised to find that she had a knack for making people laugh and putting the audience at ease. She combines the insight and humor that she gets from her "day job" as a sex therapist with the laughs and pain of being an older single person in the dating world. She has also co-written two children’s books as well as produced and hosted a cable access show, "Let’s Talk About Sex and Loving" where she won a BACE Award and WAVE Award. Described as the "Phyllis Diller of the 21st Century," Gail brings her background in lecturing improv, acting, writing, and stand-up comedy to venues all over California where she keeps her audiences laughing all the way home.

Daymon Ferguson hails from Hell. Or rather, Chico California, where he was born into a white trash tradition that he’s been trying to escape ever since. High school brought the impetus Daymon needed to become a comedian—he announced to his tenth grade drama teacher that he would one day become a stand-up comic. He got right on that, too. A mere twenty years later, here he is! But first he had to take care of a few other careers—Daymon has been a diesel truck mechanic, pizza delivery guy, forklift mechanic, waiter, racecar driver, ditch digger, exotic dancers’ bodyguard, and lawyer. All of which have helped prepare him for a career standing up in front of a bunch of people, telling dick jokes. Daymon is a treat on stage, not to be missed, and you can catch him regularly at the SF Clubhouse.

Butch Escobar hosts a kick-ass monthly showcase at the San Jose Improv on the 4th Wednesday of every month called “Butch Escobar’s Unfiltered Underground.” Butch also has hosted and featured in Big Al’s Big Ass Comedy Show, another great show you can catch at the Improv. You can see Butch perform at other great venues around the South Bay and it’s a guarantee that any of the shows he’s involved in is going to be a great time. Butch is great—he tells it like it is and does not censor himself by any means. And, it’s a well known fact, we’re all about not censoring yourself on the JMP. We can’t wait to talk about anything and everything with him!

Now go in the kitchen and fix yourself a delicious horndog.

Then tune in!
