The John Miller Program with Susan Maletta, August 28

Whoa Nelly do we have a big show for you this Saturday night. This is the night of comedy greatness. This is the night of comedy heavyweights. This is the night of erotic tension and comedic release. This is the night we welcome back our absolute Favorite regular guest on our show...he's a comedy GENIUS (no big deal)...but he's also the object of my private fantasies (kind of a big deal)! We are thrilled to have the wickedly hilarious and incredibly sexy ROBERT HAWKINS back on the show!

Robert Hawkins is an ex-army medic (U.S.) who grew up fast on the sandy beaches of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. "I joined the army because I was 18 and bored with tenth grade". After an honorable discharge from civilian jobs, he took the advice of his friends and tried stand-up comedy for the first time at the Improv in Dallas, Texas. Within four years Hawkins appeared on A&E's "Comedy on the Road" with John Byner and was headlining comedy night clubs across the country as well as colleges and corporate parties. Hawkins moved west to San Francisco and broke into the Bay Area comedy scene with a strong showing in the 1993 San Francisco International Stand-Up Comedy Competition placing ninth out of hundreds. Hawkins recalls, "it was bogus man, I should have been eighth" The next year he went on to win the Fifth Annual Stand-Up Comedy Competition at California State University.

1996 was Robert's break out year with a critically acclaimed appearance on Showtime's "Full Frontal Comedy". In July of 1996 he was invited to perform at the prestigious Just for Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal. His performance resulted in a sitcom development deal with Fox television. Robert made his network debut in October 1998 on NBC's "Late Night with Conan O'Brien". A recent magazine article covering Hawkins' stand-up wrote "comics like Robert Hawkins take the art form (stand-up comedy) to new highs and he is worth checking out if he comes to your town."

Also on the show we are thrilled to have comedian, actor, and comedy writer David Feldman joining us!

For years a favorite among critics, other stand-ups, and those in the know, David Feldman is finally breaking through with frequent appearances on "The Tonight Show" and "Late Night with Conan O'Brien." He will soon appear in his own half-hour special on Comedy Central to air later this year. Feldman also appears frequently on Showtime, VH1, and until he got way too old, MTV. Feldman's acting credits include most recently an appearance on HBO's critically acclaimed series "Curb Your Enthusiasm" starring "Seinfeld" co-creator Larry David.

As a comedy writer, David Feldman has amassed a variety of credits. He was a writer for the popular ABC sitcom "Roseanne," as well as HBO's much-lauded "Dennis Miller Live!" and "Not Necessarily the News." He currently writes for HBO's "Real Time With Bill Maher." Feldman has written for countless awards shows including the 2002 and 2003 Emmys. Feldman has also won three prime time Emmy awards for comedy writing, as well as three prestigious Writer's Guild Awards and a Cable Ace Award. But David says the award he looks forward to most is the three million dollar settlement he gets from a jury after successfully bringing Roseanne to court for firing him with two small children to support. In 2009, Feldman launched the popular listener supported 'David Feldman Comedy Podcast' which includes a diverse mixture of live and prerecorded content which can be downloaded from iTunes for free.

Next up we have a legend on the San Francisco comedy scene joining us, my good friend, the very funny John Hoogasian!

John Hoogasian is the best-kept comedy secret weapon. A wit honed to a razor's edge through years of sacrifice propels Johnnie's creative flow. Immediately accessible and fresh, Hoggie's style is both pioneering and classic. He tailors his sets to the harmonics of his audience. His fearless on-stage adventures challenge the audience to be with him in the moments. He will engage anyone, anywhere with his own unique hand-to-hand banter. In a world fraught with real and imagined danger, he creates an escape route that invites kindred spirits along. His pathos has resonance across all of humanity. John Hoogasian has appeared on Comedy Central's Live at Gotham and is a regular headliner at the San Francisco Punchline and other clubs across the Bay Area.

And finally we welcome back our long-lost soulmate and partner in crime Ben Feldman to the show!

Ben Feldman is a stand-up comedian based in San Francisco (originally from the East Coast) who performs regularly at some of the Bay Area’s top comedy clubs, including Pepperbelly’s, The Purple Onion, and Rooster T. Feathers, as well as shows throughout California and beyond. He is also a regular performer with the touring comedy group “Pawns Of Comedy”. Ben’s acerbic wit is provocative yet playful, delivered with glints of absurdity as he teeters back and forth along the thick line between aggression and charm. In other words, he’s a heavily sarcastic but likeable smart ass.
Ben ran and hosted one of the most successful recurring comedy showcases in the Bay Area called the “Laugh Orgy”. He now hosts a weekly comedy talk show on Pirate Cat Radio in San Francisco "The Ben Feldman Show" with co-host Candy Churilla from NBC’s Last Comic Standing.

So now you know who we've got so you can cancel any other plans you had.

Who needs money when you have the John Miller Program with Susan Maletta for FREE on your radio?!

Cheril Vendetti is a seasoned and much sought after comedienne on America’s comedy circuit, where her bookings keep her on the road for most of the year. When in Los Angeles, she is a regular at the world famous Comedy Store in Hollywood, and recently appeared in the “The Main Room,” a documentary about the club. She received a Clio award for playing an Italian cook in a Foster Farm commercial, and has appeared on HBO’s Real Sex (thankfully, fully clothed). It was on stage at NATPE where talent agent David Tenzer of CAA began to represent Miss Vendetti and her cooking show “I Got Your Recipes..Right Here!!” It was also on that stage where she got to create two TV pilots “The Queen of New Jersey” and “Queen of the Road.” Miss Vendetti has just completed a comical cookbook, “Mistress of the Mob Cuisine".

Steve Booth has had a varied career in stand-up, television, and film. His commercials include "Free Doritos – Snow globe throwing office worker," which was voted Superbowl XLIII’s NUMBER ONE COMMERCIAL by USA Today, MSNBC and YouTube, "Get More Heinz – Big Kid," a Herbert Brothers Production, and "Duct Tape – Duct Taped Roomate," a Doritos Crash The Superbowl Finalist that aired on Comedy Central, MTV, and G4. Steve was host of 17 episodes of XLTV, which aired on UPN for two seasons. He was also a featured performer on Uncut. Steve also appeared on SplatterFactor as comic relief interviewing paintball players and fans. This show aired for one season on FOXSPORTS. Steve has also had numerous small spots in music videos, local commercials, and appearances as a local personality.

Steve was also a featured comedian in the South of Sanity Stand-Up Comedy Tour, was a Finalist in Jerry Springer’s Funniest Fan Contest, and was a featured comedian in Laughter From The Homefront – a DVD for troops in Iraq. He has done hundreds of performances at comedy clubs, colleges, corporations, and theaters across the midwest. He is currently the Director of Nacho Mamas Comedy, and has been in the Wit’s End Comedy Troupe, Trespassers Only Improv Comedy, and Friday Night Live. Steve also taught improv and acting workshops at Xavier University and for corporate sales/brand/team building. Steve has authored a book and DVD series entitled Improv Games for Groups. He was also author and performer on House of Bugs, a 10-song children’s music CD, and he was author and performer for a 12-song comedy album entitled “Screwed, Blued, and Tattooed”. Steve Booth was also a celebrity judge at the Oxford International Film Festival.

Growing up in Vernon, British Columbia, the epitome of small-town Canada, Richard Kiss has lived in Vancouver, Los Angeles, and the San Francisco Bay area. While a mathematics graduate student at UCLA, Richard dabbled in stand-up as a member of the UCLA Comedy Club and performed in several shows. He took a hiatus for a decade, and resumed performing in November of 2004. Richard has performed in shows in a variety of locations including Rooster T. Feathers and the San Jose Improv.

Joe Gorman is a recent college graduate with the cherubic face of a recent driving school graduate. He's a fixture on the local scene and the founder of Baby Faces of Comedy Tour. Joe's mother once referred to him as an "apple-cheeked young man." Joe enjoys telling jokes and most of his punchlines end with him very-nearly raping something. He has performed at San Franciso's Punchline, the Purple Onion, and the San Jose Improv. He is also a stage actor, recently protraying Luke Skywalker in a stage adaptation of Star Wars at the Dark Room Theater.

Now go and slip into something more comfortable. Hopefully see-through.

Then tune in!

The John Miller Program with Susan Maletta, August 14

If you don't listen to this week's show, I'm going to grab the station microphone, cuss everybody out, grab two beers, and flamboyantly slide off my chair onto the floor. Which I guess is no different than any other week. So I doubt anyone is gonna call me a hero.

By the way, HUGE thanks to our guests last week who amused us all, including Josef Anolin, Chuck Farnham, Yayne Abeba, and David Wiswell. You can catch the replay by downloading the podcast at www.fccfree.com. Click "Last Show".

So here's the deal. This is NOT the show to miss.

Phil Perrier is a hilarious national touring stand-up comedian and writer for the Jay Leno show as well as the George Lopez show. (Not to mention a regular on the John Miller Program with Susan Maletta!) He started with All Comedy Radio in the spring of 2003 and was syndicated on 37+ stations in the United States, 23+ stations in Canada, and one station in South Africa. He is best known for the Hollywood Report "Limited Access", Recurring Sketches: "Interview with a Dead Guy", "Celebrity Sodium Pentothal", "Wisdom of the Ages, with Ceepak Okra", and "Oblivious Witness to History". In 1990, Phil started writing jokes for Jay Leno & "The Tonight Show" and still to this day writes for Jay.

In 1999, Phil started writing for his first Nationally Syndicated radio show "Bob and Tom's Big Show”. In 2001, he began writing for Martin Short and "The Martin Short Show". Ten years after he started writing for Jay Leno, Phil Perrier also started writing for David Letterman & "The Late Show". Phil still writes for both shows. Phil has also been a columnist for many newspapers including the L.A. Daily News, Washington Times, San Francisco Examiner, Baltimore Sun, Philadelphia Inquirer, Cleveland Plain Dealer, Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Birmingham News, JewishWorldReview.com and, last but not least, he was a Staff Writer for the Athens (Ga.) Observer from 1993-2000

What makes this show extra special tonight?

We're having an old friend return to see us who we haven't seen for awhile. And we are very pleased to have him back. We're going to have on someone who we haven't talked to for awhile. We're going to have someone you might not have expected to be here. We're going to welcome back an extra-special boy who once was a bright-eyed, bushy-anussed intern on the John Miller Program with Susan Maletta! That's RIGHT! We're going to have Casey Ley on the show!

Casey Ley is a very funny local and touring headliner and comedy radio talk show host. He has toured with Fags and Hags, headlined Live at the Onion Series at the Purple Onion, worked at the prestigious San Francisco Punchline, Cobbs Comedy Club, and the Hollywood Improv. For the past two years he has also been a part of SF Sketchfest. He is also host of The Morning Show on PirateCat Radio, a weekly talk show focusing on news, current events and the bay area comedy scene. Get ready for fun and sexy mayhem with Casey!

Kurt Weitzmann will also be back to reunite with our crazy asses! Kurt's been keeping busy but we're glad to have him back in the studio. Kurt has been performing comedy for over 15 years and his act has been seen on Comedy Central, MTV, and on the stages of every San Francisco comedy club ever to come or go. Kurt Weitzmann created, edited, and produced the ingenious "SF Weakly", a highly celebrated parody of the SF Weekly, for which he was labeled a comic genius by non other than The SF Weekly. Kurt Weitzmanns comedy sketch album TALENTED is now available on AMERICAN DREAMS RECORDS. Kurt is also the producer of the new hit film "Last Call" and co-creator of the very popular and funny "Jesus Roast" and "Hitler Roast". Kurt is also a regular performer at the SF Punchline.

And finally we're going to have a heart-to-fart chat with Neil Leiberman, The Comedy Coach®. Neil's been around a long time in the comedy scene because...well....he's OLD! Neil Leiberman was a comedian in the seventies and eighties and still performs occasionally for private functions. But being a Comedy Coach® is a full time job, so in 1982 he decided to commit himself to helping other comedians. Neil says, "My goal is to break new ground and help Comedy advance as an art form." He has been coaching comedians, public speakers, actors and screenwriters for close to thirty years. Neil also travels the globe presenting his one-day Stand-Up Comedy Seminar at comedy clubs, corporations, and colleges. Neil has sold two of his screen plays, writes for numerous national headliners, and is co-founder and Sr. Vice President of George Carlin’s Laugh.com, America’s premier comedy record company. Let's hope Neil can stay awake during his segment, because well...he's OLD!

The John Miller Program with Susan Maletta, August 7

Thanks to our guests who rocked it last week on our show, Scott Rubin, Matt Purpura, Ronn Vigh, and Greg Asdourian. We had a great time calling San Francisco porn shops and asking them freaky questions! You can catch the re-play now on www.fccfree.com. Click "Last Show" for the wildness!

This week get ready for more crazy and absurd times!

Chuck Farnham was the radio stunt man of the year in FMQB for his work at Live 105. He attended the funerals of Richard Nixon, Sonny Bono, Buck Owens, and Roy Rogers. He was one of the 3 guys sued for Macplaymate by Playboy. He was in 4 adult films, Blondage, The Dog Walker, Fresh Meat, and The Voyeur. He wrote a book called The Best Mac Deal in the late 1980s. He traveled to 500 Grateful Dead shows, Europe, Alaska, and saw all 15 of the Warfield shows in 1980. He also created the first HyperCard products for Apple Macintosh computer, called "Smutstack".

David Wiswell hit the San Francisco comedy scene in 2004. He tied for first place in MTV’s 2005 San Francisco “Yo’ Mama!” Competition. He also reached the finals of the Twisted Sea Biscuit Contest, the Brainwash Comedy Contest, and the San Francisco Comedy Club Competition. With material ranging from his love of children to his hatred of the Pope, David will display an interesting view of morality and logic that will leave you questioning both yours and his.

Yayne Abeba is known for gripping audiences with her tales of growing up as a first generation Ethiopian in America. She found constant humor in the fact that she was growing up in two totally opposite worlds; the old culture of Ethiopia fused with the young and rebelious culture of America. It didn't help that she grew up in San Francisco's Haight Ashbury. Hippies and Habeshas don't mix very well. In 1995, she joined Jean Shelton actor's lab. It was there that she received praise for the role of Denny (an 80 year old white man) in the original production of "Indigo Don't Vote". She was bitten by the comedy bug in 1999 at Tony Spark's Luggage Store. Her style as been described as fresh, innovative, cutting edge and just damn funny! No topic is off limits. It was this refreshing style that got her on Season Two of Last Comic Standing. She received rave reviews for her performance at the first Holy City Zoo production, "Zoology 101", in January of 2000. She has performed at the Kung Pao Kosher Comedy show, Funny Girlz with Renee Hicks and Elvira Kurt. She took second place in the 2001 Russian River Comedy Competition. She is the winner of the (2002) Russian River Comedy Competition.

And finally we are happy to have the very funny Josef Masajiro Anolin joining us! Josef was born and raised in Oakland, California. As a stand-up comic, Josef has performed at the Punchline San Francisco and Sacramento, The Improv in San Jose, Brea, and Irvine, The Purple Onion in San Francisco, and many other venues throughout California. As a writer and actor, he has worked in a variety of capacities with Kularts, Bindlestiff Studio, and The Asian American Theater Company.

Don't be a newb, go get your lube, whip out your boob, then tune in!
