He is the producer of the Chicano Kings of Comedy as well as the San Jose Comedy Jam and more. I've been in a couple of his shows and had a great time! He knows how to pack a venue and make sure everyone has fun!

The John Miller Program with Susan Maletta, July 28

This week on the program we welcome John Brown, Rodney Hood, Nathan Habib, and Barry Pitrowski to the show!

Nathan Habib is a stand-up comedian who brings a fresh personality on stage with a burst of energy only comparable to the mintiest mouthwash. He's performed at clubs all over California and has performed with national headliners such as Arj Barker, Rich Vos, and Mark Pitta. Nathan was born in Belgium and raised in Palo Alto, California where he was brought up in a Jewish Israeli household with a Latvian mother, an Italian-raised dad, and two older brothers, which has given him plenty to talk about. He recently graduated from UC Santa Cruz and has been doing comedy since his freshman year of high school. “Habib is able to so deftly illuminate the lack of logic behind many social mores is evidence of his way with words as well as his understanding of what is rational and what clearly isn’t.” – Good Times Weekly

The John Miller Program with Susan Maletta, July 21

Tonight on the show we welcome back our dear friend Phil Perrier!

Phil is a hilarious national touring stand-up comedian and writer for the Jay Leno show as well as the George Lopez show. (Not to mention a regular on the John Miller Program with Susan Maletta!) He started with All Comedy Radio in the spring of 2003 and was syndicated on 37+ stations in the United States, 23+ stations in Canada, and one station in South Africa. He is best known for the Hollywood Report "Limited Access", Recurring Sketches: "Interview with a Dead Guy", "Celebrity Sodium Pentothal", "Wisdom of the Ages, with Ceepak Okra", and "Oblivious Witness to History".

In 1990, Phil started writing jokes for Jay Leno for "The Tonight Show" and still to this day writes for Jay. In 1999, Phil started writing for his first Nationally Syndicated radio show "Bob and Tom's Big Show”. In 2001, he began writing for Martin Short and "The Martin Short Show". Ten years after he started writing for Jay Leno, Phil Perrier also started writing for David Letterman "The Late Show". Phil still writes for both shows. Phil has also been a columnist for many newspapers including the L.A. Daily News, Washington Times, San Francisco Examiner, Baltimore Sun, Philadelphia Inquirer, Cleveland Plain Dealer, Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Birmingham News, JewishWorldReview.com and, last but not least, he was a Staff Writer for the Athens (Ga.) Observer from 1993-2000.

Guests this evening also include Matt Curry and Shiva Khales!

Shiva Khales is one hilarious, wild chick that I knew I liked and got along with right away. She's one of these girls that doesn't give a fuck what she says and keeps it real and loves to party! I love that!!! Shiva performs all over the Bay Area including venues such as Rooster T Feathers in Sunnyvale and the San Jose Improv. In her own words, she is "a girl who suffers from Persian Problems - the next step up from Shiva Problems, extreme A.D.H.D. and Jungle Fever... Oh, and did I mention I'm not a mind reader but I'm kind of psychic?"

Matt Curry and I became friends in a hurry. He is a very funny, clever, and whimsical comedian with a unique laid-back delivery and he makes me laugh hard! And crowds too! Matt performs all over the Bay Area at all the clubs and venues. Aside from being a comedian he is also a teacher, which is good... there are a lot of comedians who need a positive role model around them. I'm not saying he's a positive role model, I'm just saying that comedians need a positive role model around them.

The John Miller Program with Susan Maletta, June 30

This week we are pleased to welcome local celebrity radio personality and former comedian Mark Curtis to the show! He is best known for the 15 years he spent with KTVU-TV 2/Fox Broadcasting in Oakland, California. Curtis served as Chief Washington D.C. Correspondent from 1993 to 1999; Morning News co-anchor from 1999 to 2007; and as a freelance reporter and political analyst. Curtis is a regular political contributor on KGO-AM 810 and on KGO-TV ABC7's 7 Live program in San Francisco; He also has contributed occasionally on KQED-TV 9, KPIX-TV5, and KRON-TV4 in San Francisco, as well as KTXL-TV Fox 40 News in Sacramento; and KTLA-TV5 in Los Angeles.

Curtis is an occasional newspaper reporter, covering the Inauguration in Washington, D.C. for the Danville Weekly and Pleasanton Weekly in California, as well as writing for his own blog at MarkCurtisMedia.com, which includes his weekly political column, "The Sunday Political Brunch."
Prior to moving to California, Curtis was a TV Correspondent in Washington, D.C. for all stations owned by Cox Broadcasting, including WSB Atlanta, WSOC Charlotte, WFTV Orlando, KIRO Seattle, WPXI Pittsburgh, WHIO Dayton, WKBD Detroit, and KFOX in El Paso. His year-long coverage of the Impeachment of President Bill Clinton earned him a promotion to KTVU as co-anchor of the Morning News. Mark Curtis is a former stand-up comedian who once worked with famed political comedian and fellow Milwaukee native Will Durst. Both men now work and live in the San Francisco Bay Area and still collaborate.

Next up, Eric Steele is back to join us! Born and raised in the Corn Belt, Iowa, Eric Steele has always been into entertainment. At a young age he craved attention and got into trouble for what he thought was funny at school constantly. He was active in speech and drama in high school and any other opportunity that gave him a chance to have a microphone. Eric has been doing comedy for years and takes his life experiences with him. He's an expressive comic meaning he is very animated and expressive with his emotions on stage. Eric believes everything in life can, and should be, laughed at, from his crappy jobs, home in the ghetto, and even his own father's death at a young age. You can catch Eric at many Bay Area clubs as well as every weekend on a local radio station 95.3 KRTY in San Jose. Eric's business card says it perfectly- "Comic, Writer, Golden Voice, and Lover?" Just don't try and find him on myspace, not there anymore. If you want to stalk him do so at www.facebook.com/realdealmanofsteele.

And finally, we are happy to welcome Joe Hughes, who is making his debut on the show! Always outgoing and funny as a kid, Joe started in entertainment with his brother Michael Hughes in the early 1970′s, signing with the Jack Wormser Talent Agency, (now KSR Talent). He has worked on ad capaigns such as Occidental Life, Marriots Hotel, and a documentary that aired in England on BBC television. He studied acting with private acting coach, Lois Auer. Later, Joe participated in drama at Torrance High School under acting coach Charles “Chuck” Slater, received an honorable mention in a So Cal, regional play competition. In 2005, after raising four kids, and owning his own business, Joe returned to entertainment and studied comedy at SF Comedy College with Kurtis Mathews. By 2007, Joe performed on stage, opening before the band, The Loving Spoonful, (“do you believe in magic”). Since then, Joe has performed at such comedy clubs as the San Jose Improv, Sacramento Punchline, Kino’s Komedy in Vancouver B.C., Hollywood Comedy Store, S.F. Comedy Clubhouse, Tommy T’s, Rooster T. Feathers and many more.

Joe has produced and hosted several shows including The April Fools Comedy Competition at the San Jose Corinthian Event Center, “Comedy at the Red Caboose”, “Comedy in the Village” in Capitola and “Comedy Night at the Brit” at Britannia Arms in Aptos. Joe also worked with the original cast and founders of Ron’s Comedy Farmhouse developing “Comedysurf Productions” and “Joe Hughes Presents” comedy and entertainment productions. “When you say you’re too old, that is the moment you are too old… follow your dreams.”

And let's not forget Rob E. Davis AKA Rob. E. Danger, our BELOVED announcer and co-host!

The John Miller Program with Susan Maletta, June 23

First up on the JMP this Saturday night, we'll chat with Bernie Lubbers! Bernie is a hilarious national touring comedian, public speaker, and corporate humorist, and he's the famous Whiskey Professor! As Whiskey Professor, Bernie speaks and presents for KNOB CREEK and Beam Global Sprits & Wine. He's the celebrity face of the brands for the east coast and presents to national media as well as whiskey and bourbon festivals in Kentucky, New York, Philadelphia, Tampa and Southern Florida, Tennessee, and many other cities. Bernie's also done numerous national/regional television and radio shows, such as The Bob & Tom Show, where he's been a regular guest for more than 12 years (6 million listeners nationwide).

Next up on the JMP, Leslie McMackin is making her debut to the show! Leslie is a very funny and talented lady who produces and performs in various venues across the Bay Area. Most recently, I was glad to be a part of her hugely popular, sold-out show called  "Hot Female Comics Bare All" at Stagewerx Theater in San Francisco. We didn't really bare all, but we did bare our dark souls for others' amusement for a couple hours...

Also back for more harassment and/or abuse (giving and/or receiving)...Bronston Jones back!

“Life’s short—I’m not!” isn't just a pun for this 6'7", 240lb, hairy giant; it’s Bronston Jones' motto, mantra, and mission statement, meaning “Tall or small, LIVE LARGER THAN LIFE!” So after a 5-year hiatus directing commercials, Bronston’s back at the mic doing what he loves most—Saying Something without Selling Anything. From coast to coast, he revels in revealing his failings and through his conversational, story-telling style reveals failings we all share while talking about the demented Reality Show called REALITY.

Bronston has rocked comedy clubs and opened for rock bands. He's hosted somber charity events that turned crazy-sexy-fun. He’s done stand-up for Rooftop Comedy and ComedyTime Network, is a regular on radio’s The DAMage Report and acted in TruTV’s “All Worked Up” and charity spots for UNF--KTHEGULF, plus commercials for Nike, Found Magazine, and other things he’d never buy.

Let's not forget Rob E. Davis A.K.A. Rob E. Danger, A.K.A. Our Savior Jesus H. Fucking Christ will be with us!!

Also, more guests, surprises, and distasteful shenanigans are imminent. This Saturday it's OPEN HOUSE for any comic who wants to drop by. Be ready to party.

The John Miller Program with Susan Maletta, May 26

Tonight on the program..Kurt Weitzmann will be back to reunite with our crazy asses! Kurt's been keeping busy but we're glad to have him back in the studio. Kurt's act has been seen on Comedy Central, MTV, and on the stages of every San Francisco comedy club ever to come or go. Kurt Weitzmann created, edited, and produced the ingenious "SF Weakly", a highly celebrated parody of the SF Weekly, for which he was labeled a comic genius by non other than The SF Weekly. Kurt Weitzmanns comedy sketch album TALENTED is now available on AMERICAN DREAMS RECORDS. Kurt is also the producer of the new hit film "Last Call" and co-creator of the very popular and funny "Jesus Roast" and "Hitler Roast".

Next up we have Cheril Vendetti with us! Cheril Vendetti is a seasoned and much sought after comedienne on America’s comedy circuit, where her bookings keep her on the road for most of the year. When in Los Angeles, she is a regular at the world famous Comedy Store in Hollywood, and recently appeared in the “The Main Room,” a documentary about the club. She received a Clio award for playing an Italian cook in a Foster Farm commercial, and has appeared on HBO’s Real Sex (thankfully, fully clothed). It was on stage at NATPE where talent agent David Tenzer of CAA began to represent Miss Vendetti and her cooking show “I Got Your Recipes..Right Here!!” It was also on that stage where she got to create two TV pilots “The Queen of New Jersey” and “Queen of the Road.” Miss Vendetti also published a comical cookbook, “Mistress of the Mob Cuisine.” She also has some exciting new projects we will be hearing about tonight.

And finally we welcome Sam Bam, making his debut to the show. Hailing from Stockton, California, Sam Bam experienced the usual ups and downs as a teenager trying to make it out of the hood. “I was always a good story teller, one day I just decided to give it a shot and tried stand-up.” His decision to take on comedy was the right one. Starting off in a little room in San Francisco to being seen nationally on television on BET’s Comic View, Sam has made strides in the right direction and continues to never lose sight on the reason why he does comedy. Not only does Sam perform as a comedian, he is also an accomplished event producer. He has produced shows that have brought thousands together and also has gained local media attention. He continues to produce shows including producing and headlining "Sam Bam's Comedy Jam" (Sacramento Punchline and Cobbs) and the “It wasn’t funny then, but it’s funny now” tour.

And let's not forget our dear Lord, Jesus E. Danger Christ. But you can call him "Rob E. Danger" if you're an atheist.

The John Miller Program with Susan Maletta, May 12

Well it's almost Mother's Day, you Mother F***ers. Welcome to the program. How old school is it that we call it a "program"? What are we.. AA? I don't think so. Especially not tonight because the Birdman's joining us! But first, we welcome back a real gem in the ole' sphincter ring...Phil Perrier!

Phil Perrier is a hilarious national touring stand-up comedian and writer for the Jay Leno show as well as the George Lopez show. (Not to mention a regular on the John Miller Program with Susan Maletta!) He started with All Comedy Radio in the spring of 2003 and was syndicated on 37+ stations in the United States, 23+ stations in Canada, and one station in South Africa. In 1999, Phil started writing for his first Nationally Syndicated radio show "Bob and Tom's Big Show”. In 2001, he began writing for Martin Short and "The Martin Short Show". Observer from 1993-2000.

Next up on this wacky, short-circuited roller coaster ride,  a San Jose Improv regular, Jaime "Birdman" Acosta AKA "The Birdman" is joining us. Who's this Birdman you ask? He's just a homie from the pokie. And he has a bird. And y'know what? The bird fuckin' bit me. Yeah! That's right..Polly bit a cracker!! The bird's name is Paco. I call him Dickhead. This bird is one of those big ass birds called the cockatoo. And it's weird that I was bitten by a cockatoo, ..because in my day, I've accidentally bitten a cockertwo...

Don't miss Prison Bedtime Stories by The Birdman. Dare you listen in and see if you can sleep soundly afterwards?

And let's not forget our dear Lord and Radio Marital Counselor / Mediator, Jesus E. Danger Christ. He will be saving us.

The John Miller Program with Susan Maletta, April 28

Do you guys remember a little band named KISS from a long time ago? I don't either, but I had a crush on this kid in school when I was in the fourth grade and he had this huge KISS belt buckle. (Since then, I learned from John that nowadays if you see a KISS belt buckle, it's actually a dead dick's tombstone.) Anyway,.. they had this dude in the band named Ace Frehley. He was the one with the big ole' star on his face. So yeah.. lots of people used to go crazy for Ace, so of course, he had to have a bodyguard, and his name is Christopher Mcnamara. And he's going to be on our show tomorrow! I'm hoping we're going to find out some juicy, behind the scenes information on KISS! (Lord knows, I only really care about learning about Gene Simmons' tongue).

We also welcome back to the show the wacky and wonderful Barry Piotrkowski! Barry considers himself a drug that you wanna try, can't get, and 'aint never gonna find...and if you need to know anything else, just know he RUNS SHIT! And he has a BONER!! Barry produces and hosts the famous Bacon Room at the Lariat in Belmont, California. Every Wednesday, his rambunctious Hump Day Comedy Showcase is a wild place to go party, eat bacon, and enjoy mystery shots. I am proud to call this my "home room" to go hang out and work out my new jokes. Barry also produces and hosts a new comedy showcase at St. James Gate in Belmont. By the way, when Barry arrives on our radio show, there is no way I will correctly pronounce his last name. Know that in advance.

ALSO! Don't miss out on our weekly good times with JESUS in the studio! Jesus "Rob E. Danger"!

The John Miller Program with Susan Maletta, April 7

Tonight we welcome Lori Thompson from The Alex Bennett Program with Lori Thompson. This radio program was ruler of the bay for about 8 to 10 years. During this time they made LIVE 105 KITS in San Francisco what it is today. Every 3 out of 5 people who had their radio on in the bay in the 90′s in AM drive were tuned into Alex and Lori.

Next up, we welcome back the fashionable, funny, and feisty Yayne Abeba to the show!

Yayne Abeba is known for gripping audiences with her tales of growing up as a first generation Ethiopian in America. She found constant humor in the fact that she was growing up in two totally opposite worlds; the old culture of Ethiopia fused with the young and rebelious culture of America. It didn't help that she grew up in San Francisco's Haight Ashbury. Hippies and Habeshas don't mix very well. In 1995, she joined Jean Shelton actor's lab. It was there that she received praise for the role of Denny (an 80 year old white man) in the original production of "Indigo Don't Vote". She was bitten by the comedy bug in 1999 at Tony Spark's Luggage Store. Her style as been described as fresh, innovative, cutting edge and just damn funny! No topic is off limits. It was this refreshing style that got her on Season Two of Last Comic Standing.

And finally, my partner in local crimes, Shanti Charan is back to see us!

Growing up as an Indian American, Shanti Charan possesses a cross-cultural outlook on the hilarities of life. After placing 3rd place in the 2010 San Jose Improv Comedy Competition, she went on to claim 1st place in the 2011 Rooster T Feather’s Comedy Competition. Shanti then received an invitation to compete against 30 comics from all over the country in the 2011 San Francisco International Comedy Competition and placed 7th. Her bubbly personality and contagious smile lure in audiences and keeps them laughing. Shanti has performed at the Punchline (SF and Sacramento), San Jose Improv, Purple Onion, Cobb's Comedy Club, and many more.

The John Miller Program with Susan Maletta, Mar. 24

Always the class clown (and spending most of his formative years in the principal's office), Rob Brackenridge was destined to become a comedian. Born and raised in Wisconsin, Rob has been based out of Los Angeles since 1992 and spends most of the year on the road, "bringing the funny" to audiences around the world. He tours regularly for the U.S. troops on the Miller Lite "Lite Laffs" program, and his television credits include Comedy Central's "Make Me Laugh" and "Stand-Up, Stand-Up". He is a favorite at the Improv, the Comedy Store, and Catch a Rising Star.

Next up, we welcome Sam Bam to the show! He continues to produce shows including producing and headlining "Sam Bam's Comedy Jam" (Sacramento Punchline and Cobbs) and the “It wasn’t funny then, but it’s funny now” tour.

Next up, San Francisco and LA favorite, Stroy Moyd is back to join us! Stroy hosted the 15-city tour known as “The One Night Stand Tour,” headlined by Bay Area music groups The Pack and The Cataracs, hosted UPN’s “Speak on it,” a local television show for teenagers to make them aware of drugs, violence, sex, etc.. and he’s won a handful of local comedy competitions. Originality means a lot in the entertainment industry. So to stand out from the rest of his fellow comedians, Stroy began making beats and performing hilarious rap songs on stage. “At first I was really nervous to perform funny rap songs because no one has ever done it before, and I didn’t know how the crowd would react.” After he performed his first single “Asian Bitch," the rest was history. Stroy recently relocated to Los Angeles to build a buzz and push his debut comedy album that he wrote, recorded, made the beats, and produced on his own entitled “That’s right, I said it!” available on Itunes.

We also are happy to welcome Daniel Carillo to the show. Daniel is quickly becoming a regular at the San Jose Improv, showcasing his talents in hugely popular showcases such as "Big Al's Big Ass Comedy Show" as well as the "Big, Bad, and Sexy Comedy Tour". Daniel performs all over the South Bay area.

And finally, the wacky and wonderful Barry Piotrkowski is joining us! Barry considers himself a drug that you wanna try, can't get, and 'aint never gonna find...and if you need to know anything else, just know he RUNS SHIT! And he has a BONER!! Barry produces and hosts the famous Bacon Room at the Lariat in Belmont, California. I am proud to call this my "home room" to go hang out and work out my new jokes. Barry also produces and hosts a new comedy showcase at St. James Gate in Belmont. By the way, when Barry arrives on our radio show, there is no way I will correctly pronounce his last name. Know that in advance.

The John Miller Program with Susan Maletta, Feb. 25

Don Lewis Barnhart has directed, assistant directed and stage managed hundreds of network television shows in all formats, including single and multiple cameras, on stage and on locations, featuring book shows, musicals and commercials. His directing credits include, but not all, Mork & Mindy, Benson, Full House, Hardknocks, pilots; Here To Stay and The O'Brians. He also directed 85 episodes of the syndicated series, Comedy Break, multiple episodes of Down To Earth, Safe At Home, Rocky Road, Madam's Place and a three hour live Network show entitled Celebrate America.

He’s also had the privilege of directing eight (8) seasons of the extremely popular NBC Network teen-age series, "Saved By The Bell" (over 200 hundred episodes seen here and in 85 countries during its hey-day and is currently still on the air) plus, three (3) seasons of California Dreams (over 40 episodes).

Also on the show, we have Mike Spiegelman back to see us. Mike Spiegelman hosts the weekly Layover Comedy Night in Downtown Oakland, co-hosts Bad Movie Night at SF's Darkroom Theater, and has opened for David Cross, Emo Phillips, Robin Williams, and the late Mitch Hedberg. He's acted in the SF cult film, "The Snake." His one-man show "Salad Jokes Live" is based on material from his humor website, LuggageTuesdays.com. By the way, it's so funny when Mike hosts at the Layover. Comedians go over their time limit all the time there. Maybe cuz they're drunk, who gives a shit. Anyway, so they ignore Mike's light. So Mike goes and stands almost directly in front of the comedians and just glares at them until they walk off. It's the funniest fuckin' thing ever. So go and see that.

Corie Gipson will also be joining us.

Late Night with John and Susan, Feb. 11

Don't give us none of your aggravation. We had it with your discipline. Saturday night's alright for fighting. Get a little action in. Get about as oiled as a diesel train. Gonna set this dance alight. 'Cause Saturday night's the night I like. Saturday night's alright, alright, alright...woooo!

Nicole Turley is an actor, comic, and pissed off waitperson/bartender and trainwreck from Hipsterland (Portland, OR). Nicole has appeared on stages all over the bay area and performed with the Five Funny Females. She is also co-host to FCC FREE RADIO's "the Verve" show, likes long walks on the beach, and hates white guys with dreadlocks.

Also back for more harassment...Bronston Jones is on the show!

Also, more guests, surprises, and distasteful shenanigans are imminent.

Late Night with John and Susan, Feb. 4

This week on Late Night with John and Susan...

Jackson McBrayer brings a unique comedic perspective. In the tight-knit, stand-up comedy community of San Francisco, there are only a handful of comedians who love metal music as much as he does. And of those, he’s the only one with stories about crowd surfing in his wheelchair. Jackson is also the co-creator and writer for www.6thcirclecomic.com, which is all about tattoos, metal, and nerdery.

Travis "Too Much" Curry will also be on the show. Travis hosts the "Rude at the Rouge" Comedy Night at Nick's Crispy Tacos in San Francisco on Monday nights.

And finally, Alex White will be joining us. Cracking wise about depression, addiction, hecklers and self improvement, bay area comedian Alex White has performed at Cobb's, the Punchline, The Comedy Store and other shows across California. He assumes his career in comedy will be satisfactory for him, while leaving something to be desired for his father.

Do your balls hang low? Do they wobble to and fro?
Can you tie 'em in a knot? Can you tie 'em in a bow?
Can you throw them o'er your shoulder like a Continental soldier?
Do your balls.....hang.....low?

Late Night with John and Susan

I'm baaaack! You see, Mommy and Daddy just needed a little separation but we are renewing our comedy radio vows out of respect to our loyal listeners who miss our wild antics, hilarious guests, and occasional knock-down, drag-out fights! WOO HOOO!!! This Saturday we return with a BANG baby. We have the very funny co-writer of The Marijuana-logues (as well as host to UCB's "Bro-in Out"), Tony Camin joining us!

Comedian Tony Camin is a three-time winner of the prestigious "Malcolm" award for outstanding work as a middle act. He's appeared on Late night with Conan O'Brien, Premium Blend, and a lot of others that have been cancelled. As an in-demand writer of awesome, comedic humor, Tony has worked on shows for NBC, Comedy Central, and VH1. All of which have also been cancelled. He is originally from Mountain View, California, and still brings his laundry there when he visits his mother. He currently lives in Slope Terrace, Brooklyn, with his ottoman. For more about Tony, visit www.google.com.
