This Saturday is an incredible show with an awesome line-up of insanely talented (and in some cases, insane) comedians. (Yeah we know. What's new?)
Our combination of celebrity guests, local outstanding performers, mystery guests, and NO CONTENT RESTRICTIONS make the John Miller Program with Susan Maletta the most deliciously fun comedy talk radio show to be on in the whole fuckin' world. Get it? Wonderful.
Damon Williams is a Chicago-based comedian who has made numerous television appearances such as BET's Comic View (annually since '94) including his own one hour special. He's been featured on BET LIVE and most recently hosted several episodes of the legendary Showtime at the Apollo, formerly hosted by TV star Steve Harvey. In 1999 Damon performed for over 300,000 fans as the opening act for the highly successful Kings of Comedy Tour establishing him as one of the elite Comics in the nation. Damon was chosen to attend The Us Comedy Arts festival in Aspen (Feb 2000).
In the summer of 2000, Damon headlined the Cedric the Entertainer Comedy Revue. Damon is a crowd favorite on the club and concert circuit and is currently on the Black Comedy Tour consisting of over 30 colleges and universities. His material is universal and there's something for all ages. His popularity has provided him the opportunity to work with some of the biggest stars in the business. Some of these stars include Aretha Franklin, Pattie Labelle, Luther Vandross, Ray Charles, Harry Belafonte, Chris Rock and even Little Richard.
The monthly comedy shows he produced for the past two years at the House of Blues came about after one appearance on the Jenny Jones Show. He was contracted to write, perform, and produce over 50 episodes. His starring role in the hit musical comedy tour "Laughin' on the Outside Cryin' on the Inside" generated standing ovations every performance. And finally, Damon maintains his weekly comedy showcase at B'n'J's in Matteson IL and often opens for the hit sketch comedy team "Forgotten City" at Second City a star on the rise his motto is "Don't Stop and Don't Quit." We are definately excited to have Damon Williams on our show!
Next up on the JMP, we welcome back one of our favorite regulars, Rob Brackenridge!
Always the class clown (and spending most of his formative years in the principal's office), Rob Brackenridge was destined to become a comedian. Born and raised in Wisconsin, Rob has been based out of Los Angeles since 1992 and spends most of the year on the road, "bringing the funny" to audiences around the world. He tours regularly for the U.S. troops on the Miller Lite "Lite Laffs" program, and his television credits include Comedy Central's "Make Me Laugh" and "Stand-Up, Stand-Up". He is a favorite at the Improv, the Comedy Store, and Catch a Rising Star.
Next we welcome back another one of our favorite regulars on the show, Kurt Weitzmann!
Kurt Weitzmann has been performing comedy for over 15 years and his act has been seen on Comedy Central, MTV, and on the stages of every San Francisco comedy club ever to come or go. Kurt Weitzmann created, edited, and produced the ingenious "SF Weakly", a highly celebrated parody of the SF Weekly, for which he was labeled a comic genius by non other than The SF Weekly. Kurt Weitzmanns comedy sketch album TALENTED is now available on AMERICAN DREAMS RECORDS. Kurt is also the producer of the new hit film "Last Call" and co-creator of the very popular and funny "Jesus Roast" and "Hitler Roast". Kurt is also a regular performer at the SF Punchline.
Next we have MYSTERY GUESTS! Listen in and hear who will be stopping by to tickle your funny boners.
And last but not least, we bring to you the hilarious Daryus Monday and Trakk Roberts!

Daryus Monday is funny on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. If I wore you out by listing all the days of the week to express how funny he is, you will really be worn out from all the laughter you will have after listening to him on our show. I last saw Daryus Monday at the roast of Tony Sparks, and I hadn't laughed that hard in months. We are more than stoked to have Daryus on the JMP.
Trakk Roberts, AKA "Trak the Entertainer," is a new breed of artist who's going to take the entertainment world by storm. He's a 33-year old stand-up comedian, producer, singer-song writer, rapper, and political poet. Trak Roberts is the new version of today's "urban rennaisance man", blessed with a multitude of talents and the god-given ability to demonstrate proficiency in all of his crafts. Trak's got all the tools he needs in his entertainment arsenal to become one of the next great multi-media stars! Trak has featured in two comedy DVDs that were filmed this year, and had the honor of opening for the "King of Venice Beach" Michael Colyar, a 23-year veteran of the comedy circuit. Look out world..."The era that is Trak is among you!"
Now fasten your seat belts and fondle your airbags because this is going to be a joy ride to remember, complete with raucous comedy talk radio and possibly some drunk drivers behind the wheel.

The John Miller Program with Susan Maletta, July 25

Hello Beloved Fans of Naughty Late Night Radio,

We know why you like us. You can't help it. It's because we're your guilty pleasure, seasoned with a little pain. We're like Hard Core Porn. But for Retards.

This week is full of comics who aren't afraid to say things! Let's just say we're very short on PRUDES this week, which is ALWAYS a good thing. I can't promise that we (by "we", I mean "John") won't offend somebody this week, but I CAN promise that this group of comics is going to collectively shock the airwaves, one disturbing and seductive comment after the next. I can also promise I'll always love using ALL CAPS in my BLOGS!

Yeah this group of comics is so "open-minded" and "outspoken" that they might just make you blush like a red-headed step-penis. Go ahead and hide in your locked room with your ear phones on and your half-flaccid erection if you're embarrassed. It will feel just like the first time you saw your step-dad naked and he winked at you. Still here? If so, then you will probably like our show.

Robert Hawkins
is a top-notch celebrity comedian who has been on Comedy Central’s Premium Blend as well as his own half hour special, “Robert Hawkins Live at the San Francisco Punchline” (also out on DVD), which plays regularly on Comedy Central. Hawkins worked as a sketch writer for the Johnny Steele Morning Radio Show and a clever and unique set at the Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal garnered him a development deal with the FOX network. Hawkins worked as a story editor for the FOX sitcom, “Titus”, where his creativity prompted the show’s producers to cast him in a recurring guest role as the lowlife brother-in-outlaw, “Michael”. Late Night with Conan O’Brien followed, along with appearances on Showtime, A&E, and The Bob and Tom Radio Show. Robert Hawkins continues to tour and has recorded two CDs: "Smackin' Kittens" and "Serious."

Next up on the JMP... Make some noise....Let 'em hear it...Put your hands together..they won't hear you but it's the thought that counts...Kelly Anneken and Cody Woods!

Kelly Anneken was raised by a pack of feral television sets on the banks of Cincinnati's Mill Creek in the mid-80s, and was later left to fend for herself throughout 12 years of Catholic school with only network television to sustain her. After a brief flirtation with piety (which ended with her introduction to basic cable), she found herself adrift in adulthood, with absolutely no marketable skills to coast on until shuffling off this mortal coil. At this critical juncture, Kelly met and married a wealthy, surprisingly attractive computer nerd named Tom. Using her intoxicating combination of airtight logic and sexuality, Kelly convinced Tom to leave behind his stable life in Ohio so that she could move to San Francisco and chase her dreams. Her dreams being, primarily, access to medical marijuana, re-electing Governator Arnold Schwarzenegger, and referring to herself in the third person. Eventually Tom humbly suggested that Kelly find new, more profitable dreams. So, after failing at every other possible form of employment, this industrious Jill-of-no-trades has opted to either make her own fortune by humorously chronicling the decline of Western culture or die trying. Confidentially, our money is on the latter.

Cody Woods is a comedian that does comedy sometimes. He is based in the San Francisco Bay Area and is being black balled in the comedy industry. If you would like to see Cody perform, just find him on Facebook at: facebook.com/i.have.balls.of.gold so you can find a gig near you that he will not be getting booked at. His material is performed mainly in a topical and intimate style and is pretty edgy. Cody Woods also runs a shithole comedy venue on Stanford campus called the "750 Pub", where comics have the privilege of being enjoyed by people who will be making up to $450,000 within the next two years and happen to be the same type of people that comics often gawked at in high school. Cody Woods is also very articulate and his vocabulary is often filled with prestigious words like "gawk" and "high school". Cody Woods is part Irish and once had a dog.

And finally, put your hands together....make some shadow puppets...for David Wiswell and Mary Van Note!

David Wiswell hit the San Francisco comedy scene in 2004. He tied for first place in MTV’s 2005 San Francisco “Yo’ Mama!” Competition. He also reached the finals of the Twisted Sea Biscuit Contest, the Brainwash Comedy Contest, and the San Francisco Comedy Club Competition. With material ranging from his love of children to his hatred of the Pope, David will display an interesting view of morality and logic that will leave you questioning both yours and his.

Mary Van Note is a stand-up comedienne of the weird variety. She performs at colleges, clubs, and festivals across the country and she is the creator and star of the award winning Independent Film Channel web series, The Mary Van Note Show: Gavin Really Wants Me. The San Francisco Bay Guardian called her a “Zine-Queen Comedian” as she regularly makes zines, crafts, and mini-comics. Her specialties are stick-figures and cross-stitch. "A Gracie Allen for the new millennium, Van Note's comedic styling is truly unique, as she combines elements of raunchy slapstick with charmingly innocent self-deprecation." - Flypmedia.com. "Kaufman-esque." - The Sound of Young America. "A true crowd pleaser." - Ian Brill.

The John Miller Program with Susan Maletta, July 11

Hello Loves,

Let me tell you something. We LOVE you. You are some of our most precious listeners and fans. We love you so much, you give us a BONER. Not a full-on stiffy though, just a Semi. Well, actually John has the semi and I have the "mental" semi. And our semi's are for YOU, Loves. Why not help bring us to full-mast boners and tune in tonight? Distubed yet? Good! That's why we are all here.

Tonight on the JMP..

Bernie Lubbers is a hilarious national touring comedian, public speaker, and corporate humorist, and he's the famous Whiskey Professor! As Whiskey Professor, Bernie speaks and presents for Knob Creek and Beam Global Sprits & Wine. He's the celebrity face of the brands for the east coast and presents to national media as well as whiskey and bourbon festivals in Kentucky, New York, Philadelphia, Tampa and Southern Florida, Tennessee, and many other cities. Bernie's also done numerous national/regional television and radio shows, such as The Bob & Tom Show, where he's been a regular guest for more than 12 years (6 million listeners nationwide).

We'll also talk with Kaseem Bentley and Tony Sparks. Kaseem is the Bay Area's number one insult comic and Tony Sparks is lovingly known as the "Father of SF Comedy", as he is responsible for much of this comedy madness in San Francisco and in Oakland. Tony hosts the Speech Therapy comedy showcase at Il Pirata on the first Friday of the month. He also hosts Comedy & More at the SF Playhouse Sundays, and the Thursday open mic at the Brain Wash. Tony Sparks is one of the nicest and funniest comedians you can meet. He's also one of the best comedy hosts you could be entertained by. Wonderfully supportive to comics of all levels (newbies to veterans), he helps make stage time available to anyone who wants it. Tony Sparks is a class act when it comes to professionalism, supporting the comedy community, and bringing non-stop laughs and fun to us all.

Since childhood, Oakland native Reggie Matthews has always been drawn to all that is funny. Sarcasm and opinion-based commentary has always come as naturally as breathing to him. Life has a way of throwing us various curveballs that can either send us running into the night, pulling our hair out, or running to the stage in lieu of therapy. Four years, eight jobs, a divorce, tax debt, and thousands of dollars in wage-attached child support later, our hero has decided to abandon succumbing to day jobs to become a full-time entertainer. The motivation of desperation is his driving force. Reggie was a finalist for Def Comedy Jam (Las Vegas 2006), Opened for Mark Curry, and is featured performer at Tommy T's in Pleasanton. He has also written four sitcom pilots and is a radio personality on the Al Dro Show.

Pay attention to the words of Loren Kraut, and you'll know you're getting smart, dry humor in the style of the great Woody Allen (if he were a lesbian, that is). Loren can be seen far and wide touching or counting anything that needs touching or counting. With this self-proclaimed neurosis paired with her self-evident silliness, Loren Kraut is a talented and unique crowd pleaser! She is currently the host of the late-night Friday Open Mic at the SF Clubhouse. At the recent San Francisco Comedy College Awards, Loren won "Most Inspirational Comedian" for 2008.

Straight outta the midwest, we have a "crazy mother fucker named Chris Burns from a gang called Girls With Powdered Doughnuts." Chris is a regular guest on the JMP, both in the studio and on the phone doing miscellaneous hilarious characters. Maybe we will meet some of these characters tonight! Chris is also a regular at comedy clubs throughout the bay area and hosts the "Chris Burns Call in Talk Show."
