The John Miller Program with Susan Maletta, Dec. 26

Was Santa good to you? Did you get your stocking stuffed? We hope so! But if not, don't fret. Even though it's the day after Christmas, we still have gifts in store for you. We've got goofy comedians, spiked egg nog, plenty of leftover Christmas shrubbery, hot nuts, fudge-packing lessons, and pine-scented air freshener. I know that's not much to offer, but we DO guarantee you a funny, cozy, and heavily discounted post-Christmas evening (FREE!) all you need is a radio or the Internet. Stay home (you're broke now anyway). Stay warm (it might rain). Stay drunk (escape your dysfunctional family)! Here's who we have around lingering around the yuletide log...

Kurt Weitzmann has been performing comedy for over 15 years and his act has been seen on Comedy Central, MTV, and on the stages of every San Francisco comedy club ever to come or go. Kurt Weitzmann created, edited, and produced the ingenious "SF Weakly", a highly celebrated parody of the SF Weekly, for which he was labeled a comic genius by non other than The SF Weekly. Kurt Weitzmanns comedy sketch album TALENTED is now available on AMERICAN DREAMS RECORDS. Kurt is also the producer of the new hit film "Last Call" and co-creator of the very popular and funny "Jesus Roast" and "Hitler Roast". Kurt is also a regular performer at the SF Punchline.

Charlie Ballard is 35, single, a Taurus, a total bottom but top for the right guy. He's been doing stand up for 6 years and his favorite color is eggplant. He loves long walks in jail and his favorite hobby is counting pigeons. Charlie recently had a promo clip for Jokes.com that aired on Comedy Central and he is currently conducting funny interviews with bay area comedians as part of his new video series on YouTube.

As of April 26th, 2009,
Cameron Edmondson is 28 years old. He's had a series of careers and jobs that have left him unfulfilled, uninspired, and unemployed. He's from San Luis Obispo, he loves comedy, he has five brothers, his family is incredibly jacked up, and he currently resides in San Francisco.

Edwin Li has been a working comedian since the age of 16. Performing, producing, and hosting various comedy shows in the Bay Area, Edwin’s comedy addresses issues ranging from dating to race, from education to finance. An avid fan and dedicated student of comedy from a young age, Edwin’s comedy incorporates his own life experiences relating to family, education, and culture. Although always eager for a laugh, like most comedians, Edwin can be surprisingly serious and contemplative, actively searching for new words and new language to express new experiences and perspectives in his life. Edwin is a regular at the San Francisco Punchline.

Born and raised in Harlem New York,
Jamarr John Johnson is an energetic, optimistic metrosexual with an eye on improving heterosexual relations! Not classically trained in the school of Bill Cosby and Jamie Foxx, Jamarr marvels at their abilities and hopes to smack the world by surprise. He also enjoys the obscure sometimes mundane observations of everyday life and indulges in the opportunity to share deep truths of his personal life. A determined performer, Jamarr performs and writes in front of a mirror every day to hone his skills. He desires to make people laugh while healing their souls. He is extremely committed to being entertaining and insightful as he hopes to be considered as one of the most authentic comedians around today!

Jamarr has performed with comedians such as Steve White, Christopher “Kid” Reid, Rene Hicks, Todd Paul and Rocky LaPorte to name drop a few. You can find Jamarr Hosting his own show on Cannery Row at Blue Fin Billiards in Monterey, California and has a recent appearances at the Improv in San Jose, The Crow’s Nest in Santa Cruz and The Broadway Comedy Club in New York City. The bottom line is, “Jamarr John Johnson will be a force to be reckoned with very soon” -- Christopher “Kid” Reid.

Now get ready to laugh your fat, bloated bellies off!

The John Miller Program with Susan Maletta, Dec. 12

Hey, I have a fine idea...let's get Freaky for the Holidays. Did you know that John Miller is a freak and so am I? Shall we prove it to you? (Thought we wouldn't?) Join us for four insane hours of RAW, completely UNCENSORED, and EXPLICIT fun tonight from 8 pm - Midnight. And hey, we are weathering this gnarly rainstorm for YOU, our comedy-freak-voyeurs. Yes, we are leaving the comfort of our own warm, dry, and cozy homes to trudge through some hard core, slippery-when-wet weather for YOU baby, so that we can bring you hard core laughs and mayhem! So show some appreciation, tune in, and get your freak on!

First up on the JMP...we are thrilled to have Will Franken back on the show! Franken’s humor is rooted in the British sketch comedy tradition. Onstage, he portrays an eclectic mix of characters through a series of interconnected vignettes. His skits are often satirical, skewering a range of subcultures and political views. In 2005, the SF Weekly selected Franken as Best Comedian, the San Francisco Bay Guardian calls him the Best Alternative to Psychedelic Drugs, and Tribe.net named him one of the Top 25 People to Watch nationwide.

Next up. Santa Vs. Scrooge. Who will win? Do you know? Can you guess? What's your wager? Do you even know what the fuck I'm talking about? Me neither. But our guests do. Which guests? Duh, hello...Santa and Scrooge.

And then...struttin' her stuff in her amazingly high heels, skin-tight jeans, and Velma glasses, Lindsay Blaz has slammed into the violent mosh pit we call the bay area comedy scene! Hailing from Santa Cruz, she's a tough and rebellious renegade in the comedy business and also just a really cool chick and my good friend! Lindsay runs and hosts several popular comedy shows in the Santa Cruz/Monterey area. She and I have some really freaky, outlandish girl chat so you don’t want to miss out on that…

Tonight just keeps getting nuttier...

First let me remind you that this is alternative comedy radio. Let me define this for you. Alternative: al⋅ter⋅na⋅tive [awl-tur-nuh-tiv] (-adjective): Employing or following nontraditional or unconventional ideas, methods, etc.; existing outside the establishment.

My old friend and cohort in crime truly exists outside the establishment. He is coming back to reunite with me and shock and disturb our listeners. He is our "special" guest. His last name is 13 letters long. He has a 7- foot bong. Not only that...he has THREE testicles, people. (I'm betting he can hold that bong up pretty well on that huge, 3-ball sack of his!) He likes to discuss matters of weed and hookers openly. He has been featured in the soon-to-be-famous "Hanging Out" videos with Vahe Hovak. Ladies and gentleman, may we introduce to you a legend in his own mind, the wonderfully infamous (and famous to a select few) Chris Schiappacasse. (That's "Skah - Pah - KAH *- Say" although I say "Shee-Yah- Pah - KAH* - Say).

Vahe Hovak. Comedian. Producer. Up-and-Coming YouTube Sensation. Sidekick. Vahe is all of those things and more. But most importantly, Vahe is this hot, young dude with the most beautiful eyes I've ever seen. (Sorry, Vahe, I write the bios around here and I'm a dirty ole' cougar.) Anyway, Vahe makes these videos about hanging out with comedians in the SF comedy community called "Hangin' Out." (Do a search on YouTube: Vahe Hovak, Hanging Out.) In these videos, Vahe captures the true essence of each featured comedian by revealing them relaxing in their natural environments, just talking about whatever comes to mind, much like we do here on the John Miller Program with Susan Maletta. Comedians are at their funniest when they aren't being pressured to perform--they're simply "Hanging Out" and being themselves. This is when their natural talent comes forth and they reveal their funniest true selves. Vahe creates, edits, stars in, and produces these outlandishly fun and funny videos and in my mind, these are destined to become viral videos--world-wide, internet sensations--which will soon make him famous. Now after writing all of that, I better get laid. :) ha ha

Now for a couple more of our hilarious friends and faithful regulars on the show...Tony Sparks and Jabari Davis!

Tony Sparks, known to all in the SF area as the Father of SF Comedy, is one of the nicest and funniest comedians you can meet. He's also one of the best comedy hosts you could be entertained by. Wonderfully supportive to comics of all levels (newbies to veterans), he helps make stage time available to anyone who wants it. Tony Sparks is a class act when it comes to professionalism, supporting the comedy community, and bringing non-stop laughs and fun to us all. He hosts a hugely popular open mic in the SF bay area, the famed Brain Wash CafĂ© in San Francisco. This is where NO ONE gets turned down for stage time. Tony enlists the entire audience, every week, to welcome every new comedian with “A Lot of Love!!!” What? "A LOT OF LOVE!!!!!!" Tony Sparks can also be found performing comedy and hosting shows all over the place, and he produces, promotes, and/or hosts several shows including Speech Therapy Comedy at Il Pirata, All-Star Comedy and More at The SF Playhouse, Street Legal Comedy at Pissed Off Pete's, and Raw Comedy Night at Poleng Lounge.

Jabari Davis is also on the show! I recently watched Jabari host the Roast of Tony Sparks, and I was absolutely blown away by how naturally funny he is as a comedian, roast master, and improviser. Also he is just a genuinely nice guy and fun person to hang out with. (And a lot of comedians are dicks, so that is saying something!) Jabari Davis is a hilarious LA-native comedian who performs at all the hottest shows in the area including Raw Comedy Night at Poleng Lounge, Speech Therapy at Il Pirata, King Pin Comedy, and Live at Deluxe at Club Deluxe. "This young comic is taking San Francisco by storm - a talent not to be overlooked." -- Tony Sparks, Father of SF Comedy.

That's it in a nutshell. A bunch of actual nuts, in this shell. So who wants to bust this nut?
