The John Miller Program with Candy Churilla February 3

Our first guest, Rob Little, is an old friend of the JMP. Rob’s a sketch comedy player on The Best Damn Sports Show Period and Last Call with Carson Daly. He headlines clubs and colleges all over the country, has appeared in national television commercials and on such shows as Strictly Sex with Dr. Drew, Comedy Central's Distraction, Fox News and SiTV's Latino Laugh Festival. Rob's recent comedy CD, Born 20 Inches Long, is another testament to his talent and status as a comedic force.

The Detroit Free press selected him as Michigan's "Best up and Coming Comedian," and he earned the title of "finalist" in both the Seattle and San Francisco International Comedy Competitions. Rob was also selected as a feature performer at the Chicago Comedy Festival along with the Boston Comedy and Movie Festival.

In the second hour, we'll talk with Bay Area comics, Jane Haze and Kenny Altman.

Jane Haze has performed at Rooster T. Feathers, the Punchline and various clubs around the country. Jane features for Will Durst at Doug Ferrari and Friends Comedy Night at the Purple Onion Wednesday February 6, 8pm (along with Candy).

Kenny Altman was abandoned at birth and raised by a pack of wild, Jewish standup comics. This gay, religious, rock-and-roll Jew frequently hosts the Gays and Dolls Comedy showcase at the San Francisco Comedy College Clubhouse and is a favorite at Qcomedy.

The John Miller Program with Candy Churilla January 27

Our first guest this Sunday is comedian Rob Brackenridge. Rob tours regularly for the U.S. troops and his television credits include Comedy Central's "Make Me Laugh" and "Stand-Up, Stand-Up." He is a favorite at the Improv, the Comedy Store, and Catch a Rising Star.

Nitin Kant performs in the upcoming “Pundits with Punchlines” show. Nitin says, “I make people laugh because of the pain I suffered as an Indian and the pain I suffer as an American, and generally the pain I suffer as a human being. Because I suffered all this pain, I can make you laugh. Once you laugh, my pain goes away, and I laugh, and we all laugh together, and the pain is released into the sky, and we become one with the Universe.” If he were Deepak Chopra, you would have to pay to soak in his special wisdom. Listen to him for free on the next JMP!

Also joining us is Adam Parris, who was born in May of 1977...upside down. We have no way of knowing the impact of this introduction to the world, but those involved with modern medicine determine that it must be profound and far reaching. His humor is introspective, experiential, and yet accessible to anyone with a pulse. To a growing number of audiences in the San Francisco Bay area and abroad, it is contagiously funny.

The John Miller Program with Candy Churilla January 20

Listen to us chat with comedian Rob Little, who headlines clubs and colleges all over the country, has appeared such shows as Strictly Sex with Dr. Drew, Comedy Central's Distraction, Fox News and SiTV's Latino Laugh Festival. Little dishes on everything from his personal life to comedy club booking practices.

Yayne Abeba and Ronn Vigh return to the JMP this week. Yayne has been touted as one of San Francisco's up and coming comedians. She has performed with David Allen Grier, Dan Lewis, Kathleen Madigan, Rob Cantrell, Johnny Steele, Brian Copeland, Arj Barker, Jim Short, Tony Camin, Will Durst, and Al Madrigal, just to name a few. Yayne appeared on Last Comic Standing and is a favorite at Cobbs Comedy Club and the Punchline.

Ronn Vigh’s brash attitude and acerbic wit earned him comparisons to a young Joan Rivers SF Weekly--well, if Joan were male, gay, and didn’t shoot Botox by the pound. He was featured on NBC's Last Comic Standing recently hosted Palm Springs Pride, headlined the Lake Tahoe Gay & Lesbian WinterFest, 10th Annual Michigan ComedyFest …the list goes on and on and on, much like when Ronn speaks.

The John Miller Program with Candy Churilla January 13

In the first hour, Greg Edwards brings Sal Calanni, a fellow member of the sketch group Tossing Alice.

Greg Edwards is an actor and comedian who played the lead in Primitive Screwheads’ stage production of Night of the Living Dead. He recently opened for Paul Mooney at the Sacramento Punchline.

Although the picturesque views of the Bay paled in comparison to the waterways of Cleveland, Sal Calanni calls it home and finds solace in stand up comedy. Sal enjoys describing his Sicilian family as he magically morphs in and out of characters right before your eyes. He also expresses his opinions about race, politics, life, and anything else that should probably never be discussed over a bottle of whiskey. Sal has appeared at the Punchline, Cobb's Comedy Club, and more.

We'll also chat with Dana Hayes, an old friend of the JMP. Very much a presence on the mature porn scene, Dana Hayes stars in over 120 XXX movies since her first act of debauchery in 2003. She now calls herself "The Pleasurist" and her goal is “ to make a man feel like a king!" Goals are important. You may remember Dana from the classics Old Grannies, Young Panties 2, 2 Horny White Mothers, and Ahh Shit White Mama.

In the second hour, Grant Lyon returns the JMP. Oscillating between moments of hyperactivity and a laid-back surfer attitude, Grant Lyon reveals his sixth grade personality on the stage. He discovered stand-up while playing collegiate soccer at UC Santa Cruz, and unfortunately for his soccer coach, the passion of his life changed. Grant has entertained at many venues in the Bay Area, including the San Francisco Punchline, Pepperbelly’s, and Rooster T. Feathers.

The John Miller Program with Candy Churilla January 6

This week's show will be above all else...loud. First up, we have Doug Ferrari, who celebrates his 25th year in comedy. He has opened for everyone from Bob Hope to Robin Williams, and currently hosts Doug Ferrari & Friends at the historic Purple Onion every Wednesday night. Doug has pledged to do half his shows for the community in the form of benefits, fundraisers, rehab centers, and comedy talks on recovery for everyone. His new one-man show, “I’ll Tell You When I’m Kidding,” recently premiered at the Throckmorton Theatre.

In the second hour we have the unfairly handsome Ben Feldman, a favorite of the JMP, who is hated by most comics because he’s not only incredibly wealthy, but has been voted (by himself and Candy) as the Bay Area’s funniest comic. Ben created the monthly comedy show Ben Feldman’s Laugh Orgy, which happens the second Wednesday of every month at San Francisco’s Grant & Green Saloon.

Justin Scales, aka, "The Scalesman" is a favorite of the SF underground comedy scene. He lived in a teepee and can be seen with Doug Stanhope at Club Deluxe on February 15th and 16th.
